    ** 8/10 - Diskant.dk **
The band proves to be mature and strong while maintaining a youthful attitude towards the traditional genres they're experimenting with. [..] It's not just promising, it's really, really good.

    ** 4/6 - Lydtapet.net **
This time the band reveals a more american sound which pays off really well on the southern rocking "Friend of The Devil", kicking the desert dust off their snakeskin boots sounding like a cross between Days of The New and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

I can hear my train a-coming As a distant lonely cry And my cold and darkened angel Left a soul to satisfy So hard to find Some peace of mind And gal your ways are young as any childs But hold the kind of miracle That drives a man insane So dry your eyes And sing for me again Though your eyes are made of sapphire And your bird has never flown Gal your mind is filled with sadness And your heart is made of stone Afraid of love To rise above So hard to keep the fire in the stove And I can never free you From your demons and your chain So dry your eyes And sing for me again As a sad and orphaned stranger Down the lonesome road I go As I hang my head in sorrow For the wounds will always show No will to strive To keep alive For nothing matters more to me than time The drugs can never cure me From the emptiness and pain So dry your eyes And sing for me again

Pity my life Humble my crown Drown me in the river By the burial ground Digging my grave By the watering hole Tell them the devils gonna get my soul Down on my knees Filled up with lies Hang me at the gallows When the morning do rise Watching my mind Spinning out of control Tell them the devils gonna get my soul Secrets or lies Flip of a coin Preachers will be smiling When the deamons rejoin Dealers will laugh And be selling paroles Tell them the devils gonna get my soul Turning my tricks Pledging my time Nobody cries For tedious crime Lie and deceive As a Judas of old Tell them the devils gonna get my soul Pray for yourself Never grow old Everyone cares For your silver and gold Sell me your heart For a mountain of coal Tell them the devils gonna get my soul Crooked by loss Leave me alone Tables will turn As the devil will roam Gave him my word But he wanted me whole Tell them the devils gonna get my soul

In all the things you blow There is a heart and theres a voice And a light that always shines On something good For every stone you throw There is a way and theres a choice And a line we always draw Where we once stood And the sun also rises At the shore Where we never go For all the times we stayed With the shadows in the dark Another day will come Where we will rise For every song we sing In the light of every spark Will lead us past the storm Into the light And the sun also rises At the shore Where we never go Let there be a time when You dont know your mind for All the lost and found will Leave you cast and still the Sun also rises At the shore

I drove a friend to the edge of town Crops of earth in the frosty ground Trapped in this town with a heart of doubt Got no clue when the money runs out Light a cigarette and sing to the shelf Read a good poem, say a lie to yourself Howl like a wolf to the darkened sky Wake in the day with the sun in your eyes Leave it on the ground Leave it lost and found Lost and found There is a darkness A heart of darkness And there is no light There is a darkness A heart of darkness And there is no light Dream of a path through the meadowlands Found in the work of a writers hand Stoned in the ways of the safe and sound Lost in the race of a merry-go-round Leave it homeward bound Leave it lost and found Lost and found There is a darkness A heart of darkness And there is no light There is a darkness A heart of darkness And there is no light

Ships are leaving at the shore Wolves are howling at your door Waiting as our world is slowly fading Time is playing overseas Waving anchored in the breeze Calling for a voice but leave us waiting Leaving all the roses in the yard Leaving all the dreams that get us far Thumbscrew twisting deamons Skeletons are dreaming Crawling through the dust Of memories that I have never touched Im buried in its crust Needles cut through flesh and fame Clenching fists and taking names Leaving you with voices that are crying Finally it conquers time Fighting death in thoughts and rhyme Waiting as our days are slowly dying Leaving all the roses in the yard Leaving all the dreams that get us far Thumbscrew twisting deamons Skeletons are dreaming Crawling through the dust Of memories that I have never touched Im buried in its crust

about

The EP is the second in a series of four EP's exploring different sounds and ideals. The first EP, SIT DOWN BY THE FIRE, was released in 2010, and had three songs with a grandeur electric rock sound and quite big topics of life and ambitions.

The songs on this second EP are drawn out of the down-to-earth american folk sound, and they are slowly growing, thoughtful and sparingly arranged. The songs describe a palette of feelings that are all present within our young minds - love, raging frustration, dazing daydreams and most importantly the urge to get on the run from the sleepy small towns to hit the big city buzz.

While the former EP SIT DOWN BY THE FIRE had more distant and general topics and lyrics, ROOTS FROM THE CROPS OF EARTH dives into much more close and personal stories, bringing to life vivid tales of youth. The 5 songs on the EP are "Sad-Eyed Lady of The North", "Friend of The Devil", "The Sun Also Rises", "Heart of Darkness" and "The Devil Drinks My Wine".
